Mayank Mandal, 6 months old baby, born with complete Atrioventricular Septal Defect- a large hole in centre of the heart affecting all four chambers where they would normally be divided. Mayank had such severe complications since birth. Due to the illness, Mayank used to breath faster and harder than normal.
He also faced trouble feeding and not growing at a normal rate. Mayank was recommended an immediate open heart transplant to survive, cost of which was estimated around INR 2,50,000. Mayank?s father works field executive in a private firm and earns 7,500 per month. All of his salary, usually exhausted in meeting their daily life expenses. It became difficult for them to gather funds for his operation in such a short span. Mayank's father Dilip Mandal then visited to Child Heart Foundation in year 2017. And in the same year Mayank got his successful surgery done in Jaypee hospital, New Delhi, sponsored by Child Heart Foundation. Mayank is now living and growing healthy.
