Ampriyal was diagnosed with congenital heart disease when he was 4 months old, which if not treated timely could have led to his heart failure. His parents work as tea leave pickers in Tea Garden in Darjeeling and are daily wagers with income of Rs.150 a day. With such minimal wages they were not able to afford their child's treatment. The cost estimated was around Rs. 1,60,000.As the family was running from pillar to post for help and were running out of hope, they got in touch with the Child Heart Foundation for financial help.
We helped his diagnosis and raised funds for his treatment. He got successfully treated at Siliguri and is doing well at his regular free follow ups with our cardiologist.
