At the age of three Dimple had to take a lot of pain as she was born with the PDA ( Patent Ductus Arteriosus), which means that she had a hole in her heart from birth. Dimple's father Pappu works as a daily wager and he hardly earns INR 200 a day. Dimple was recommended an immediate PDA closure at the time of her birth only, but the unaffordability of surgical cost kept delaying her surgery.
The estimated cost of her surgery was around INR 3,00,000 and this was a huge amount for her family to arrange. Dimple have two sisters of her age and her father is the only earning member. They consulted Dr. Kohli about her condition and they were assured that Child Heart Foundation would collect funds for her treatment and get her surgery done. Dimple then got her successful surgery done in Metro hospital which was sponsored by Child Heart Foundation. She is healthy, happy and leading a normal life.
