Aahil Verma was diagnosed with a hole in his heart the same day he was born, said his worried mother. Aahil's parents have left no stone unturned for her baby's treatment. Hailing from Delhi, she had travelled too far flank places for Aahil's treatment, recalls the mother. There were days when she had to stand in for hours long string of lines to get an appointment with a specialist. Manisha said her baby's health has been slipping with each passing day. From cold and flu to uncontrolled high fever. Adding to her woes her baby is unable to feed on her milk.
Lady luck would smile upon Aahil as his uncle would refer them to Dr. Kohli. Everything seemed to be right when the parents met Dr. Kohli, recalls Manisha. Upon examination, Dr. Kohli diagnosed Aahil with an ABSENT PULMONARY VALVE and would require a TOTAL REPAIR.
The entire procedure would cost an amount of 4 lakhs rupees. Aahil's mother works in a garment shop, and his father works as a daily labourer. The baby's parents have pinned their hope on Child Heart Foundation to help them financially and give their baby a second chance to see this beautiful world. Manisha expressed that "Dr. Kohli is their guardian angel in disguise and blesses him with utmost humility."
The CHF Team began raising money for Aahil, and after much effort, his funds were secured and his family was prepared for his major operation. He had surgery successfully and was released from the hospital by the grace of God.
Aahil is healing well, and everything is going well, Dr. Vikas Kohli told the parents when he visited us at our clinic and performed an echocardiogram. He sat down and listed all the essential post-operative precautions as well as the medications he would require. His parents expressed their gratitude to each and every person who assisted in preserving their child's life.
