Deepanshu aged 6 years has been suffering from critical heart condition since his birth. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot- a rare combination of four heart defects that are present at birth. Due to the condition the oxygen supply to the brain suffered and the child had to face difficulty in breathing. Since his birth, Deepanshu is unable to sleep peacefully and feel restless. The low oxygen level also results in his nails and lips turning blue.
The parents of Deepanshu, Mr. Sanjay – a tailor by profession and Parveen were forced to take a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh from their relatives for the stent implant required for Deepanshu previously. Deepanshu required another surgery named TOF repair and the estimated cost of his surgery was Rs 4,00,000. His father Mr. Sanjay has an annual income of Rs 90,000 and is unable to bear
The health condition of Deepanshu was adversely during the lockdown period because of the inaccessibility to screening services. The family was counselled about the Emergency Heart Surgery required to save Deepanshus Life. The family along with Deepanshu travelled in an emergency situation to Delhi and was immediately admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on December 8, 2020. The child underwent Covid 19 (RTCPR Test) and his test were confirmed as negative.
Deepanshu underwent his Heart Surgery on December 10, 2020 in emergency circumstances. The Heart surgery was conducted sucessfully and he showed immediate signs of improvement after the surgery. He was shifted from NICU on December 13 much to relief of the parents - Sanjay and Parveen. He was sucessfully discharged from the Hospital on 15th December 2020
