Asad aged 4 years was born in a remote village in District Uddham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. His father – Mr. Kamaluddin worked as a labourer in his village and earn only to sustain his family. Around 2 years back Asad experiences discomfort while breathing. The also got fatigue and tired without any Physical activity. This created a doubt in mind of the parents and they decided to consult a doctor in Delhi.
On their visit to Delhi, they came to know about the Free OPD services provided by Child Heart Foundation on every Thursday in New Delhi. Asad was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and was counselled about the treatment process which requires continuous medication. His father – Kamaluddin works is self employed as a barber and was unable to purchase lifesaving medicine which cost approximately around Rs 5000 per month. In addition to this he was also unable to bear the travel cost of accessing follow up check ups which is essential to be done on a quarterly basis.
Child Heart Foundation registered Asad under PH Life care Program and a registered beneficiary of PH Life Care Fund. CHF has been free medicines to Asad since the last two years. During the lockdown period Child Heart Foundation also delivered the medicines at their doorsteps through a network of volunteers and distributors
