The CHF team requests you to contribute and help Nishant live a normal and healthy life.

Nishant is an ambitious and independent 18-year-old boy who unfortunately at this age is more focused on arranging funds for his surgery, instead of planning his career ahead. The boy has had a very difficult childhood where he has been through a lot of health issues. He had breathing issues when he was just three months old. The parents consulted a doctor who advised them to take him to a city for proper diagnosis.

He was brought to Patna, and after a few checkups, the doctors informed the family that he has a hole in his heart. For almost four years, his treatment continued, and the family was frequently traveling to the city. After monitoring him for some time, the doctors suggested the parents to take him to a big city like Delhi and get him checked in a hospital.

The family agreed and came to Delhi. They went to AIIMS and from there, they found a common connection in Safdarjung, where he was taken for diagnosis. The doctor asked them to wait and observe his situation for a while. In 2010, however, the doctor advised them for surgery. Nishant was still a child and on hearing that surgery was required, he threw a fit and started crying. It was getting extremely difficult for his parents to control him, and they decided to go back to their hometown and come after a while.

The family again came to Delhi in January 2011, and they waited till March for his first surgery. Unfortunately, when they came for follow-ups post-surgery, again some problem was detected. This left Nishant’s parents completely rattled as their difficulties seemed unending. The doctor in Safdarjung referred them to Child Heart Foundation and told them about Dr. Vikas Kohli. They have been coming to the center for follow-ups once in six months and now, Nishant’s current heart condition is such that it requires surgery as the blocking continues to grow. He has RV Midcavity obstruction and requires complete repair. The total estimated cost is Rs. 3,50,000. The foundation has stepped in to help them with funding as the parents are unable to take care of the expenditure.
