Child Heart Foundation PROJECTS

    • PraDAAN: FREE PAEDIATRIC CARDIAC OPD CONSULTATION

    • Need to start? In this program, parents who based on symptoms suspecting heart ailment in their children or who are referred by some physician come for free consultations on every Thursday to our Delhi Child Heart Centre

Who are the beneficiaries? Parents who are economically poor and cannot afford to go to corporate hospitals and also parents who have to wait for days for consultations in Government hospitals because of excess patient load.

    • HriDAAN: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR TREATMENT

    • Need to start? Keeping the fact that most of the congenital heart patients require treatment in first year of their life, poor parents find it impossible to raise funds for treatment which can run into lakhs. They end up losing their children as the waiting period at Government hospitals is too long. We enrol the children who are diagnosed with any congenital disease at Delhi Child Heart Centre into our Child Heart Foundation and raise funds for their free treatment.

Who are the beneficiaries? Poor parents who get a new lease of life on seeing their children getting back to normal life after the successful treatment.

    • JeeVANSH: FREE FETAL CARDIOLOGY PROGRAM/EARLY DIAGNOSIS

    • Need to start? Fetal Cardiology and Fetal Echo- Cardiology is relatively new field to India and has major impact on clinical practice of Sonologists, Obstetricians and Paediatricians. During Pregnancy, normal ultrasound is carried out as general practice but there are certain congenital diseases which are not visible in normal ultrasound and can thus get ignored. The need is therefore to get early screening and detection of heart defect for appropriate future decisions to be made. Fetal Echo is an evaluation done via ultrasound to assess the heart of the unborn baby.

Who are the beneficiaries? At Child Heart Foundation, we are the only one centre where this evaluation is done free of charge for economically poor pregnant ladies.

    • HriYANSH: FREE PAEDIATRIC ECHO PROGRAM

    • Need to start? Under this program, the different services/tests provided are Paediatric Echocardiography and Electrocardiogram and the children who come for free OPD consultations can avail these tests for free. The main aim of this program is to improve cardiac health in children.

Who are the beneficiaries? Children belonging to economically less privileged families who cannot afford the tests at privately run clinics.

    • SuGyaan: COMMUNITY HEALTHY HEART AWARENESS PROGRAM

    • Need to start? Data shows that four people die of heart attack every minute in our country and the age group is between 30 to 50 years. 25%of heart attack occurs in people less than 40 years. 900 people under the age of 30 years die of heart attack every day in India. The objective of this program is to create awareness about all the causes and factors which could prevent heart disease in general.

Who are the beneficiaries? This program connects us with the young children, adults also with the school/institute staff and indirectly the individual families thus the impact is much more.

    • Hridaya Saksham: Specialized training of pediatric cardiologists.

    • Need to start? India faces a huge burden of pediatric congenital heart diseases (CHDs). Pediatric cardiology is a relatively young discipline in India. The last three decades have however, seen a spectacular growth of the specialty. The emergence of pediatric cardiology as an independent specialty has been a relatively recent development. A few centers of excellence in pediatric cardiology have developed.

Who are the beneficiaries? • Medical fraternity, who belong to any urban or rural parts of India and get trained with us.
      • Children with congenital heart defects born in poor families and who don’t have access to medical care because of economic status or non availability of trained doctors in their respective place of origin.
